About Me
I am Assistant Professor of Talmud and Rabbinics at the Jewish Theological Seminary and a Research Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. I teach, write, and speak about emotion, law, gender, community, and the imaginary in rabbinic texts. I currently live in Washington Heights with my spouse, toddler, and two cats.
Please use this website to explore my recent writing and teaching, both strictly academic and otherwise. If you’d like to be in touch with me directly, you can email me at sawolf@jtsa.edu. I enjoy guest teaching and lecturing in all kinds of environments, so feel free to reach out about that. You can also get some of my public-facing writing in your inbox by subscribing to my Substack.
